Winter is ending with a very grey day here. Sometimes the grey outside seeps to the inside. Somehow the sinister haze seems to swallow up everything in its path, leaving destruction in its trail. It’s just grey – how can it wreak so much havoc? It blocks the light.
Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light. (Albert Schweitzer)

The grey envelopes the sky
Like heavy clouds it hangs low
Perceptions are altered, views obscured
The grey overtakes the mind
Like unwanted memories it holds fast
Thoughts are cloaked in murky realities
The grey overtakes the heart
Like broken dreams it wounds unceasingly
Love is pushed aside by pain
They grey overtakes the soul
Like a life wasted it leaves a barren wake
Purpose is lost in shadowy fear
