The darkness stretches over me like a tide rolling in over a deserted beach.
It seeps into every part of me like a cold, black ooze. Enveloping. Smothering.
It’s heavy and suffocating. It moves slowly, swallowing more of me with each passing moment.
I feel helpless as it overpowers me. Exhausted, I surrender to the darkness.
The moment I stop fighting I feel the light touch me.
It washes across me like a warm, gentle rain.
It burns through the darkness.
It is a relief. A sanctuary.
I take my first breath again. Breathing in the freedom.
I breath deep, knowing in a moment
The darkness will cover me again.
